What is a controller?
A handheld transmitter that allows you to send commands’s wirelessly to the model (throttle, steer, etc.)
For beginners, a simple, ergonomic controller will suffice. Your model has a corresponding Receiver (in the model) that picks up the signal from the transmitter.
What does a battery do?
This is the engine of your fun – the power source. There are mainly two types you come across in the RC world:
LiPo - Lithium Polymer - High power, light weight. Widely used in performance models. They require a dedicated charger and careful handling (do not drain completely, do not overcharge) for maximum safety and longevity.
NiMH - Nickel Metal Hydride - Robust and simple. Often found in cheaper beginner kits. They are less powerful than LiPo's, but generally tolerate rougher handling.
