This HobbyZone Carbon Cub S is one of Start2RC's favourites when it comes to a beginner's plane! It is perfect for beginners without model flying experience. It has technology on board that makes the learning process more enjoyable, for everyone. In recent years, this aircraft has marked the beginning of many pilots' model flying careers.

This model is based on the 'CubCrafters Carbon Cub', an iconic real aircraft, which in turn is based on the legendary Piper Cub. Take that rich history & experience together with state-of-the-art technology and you get HobbyZone's best 'Cub-plane' yet: the Carbon Cub S!

Stable & durable

The Carbon Cub S 2 is made of high-quality, hard foam and can therefore take a beating. In addition, the design not only looks good, it also has fantastic & versatile flight characteristics. On the one hand, the Carbon Cub is stable, predictable and pleasant for beginners, on the other hand you can push it to its limits for acrobatic flights. The oversized wheels and steerable tailwheel also ensure that you can take off and land on many surfaces. With its 1.3m wingspan, it can also take a beating in the wind!

Smart Technology on Board

The exclusive SAFE® Technology ensures that just about anyone can learn to fly! The 3 different flight modes (Beginner, Intermediate & Experienced) ensure a progressive learning process. In the beginner mode SAFE helps to avoid loss of control and orientation, prevents most crashes and helps you to guide the aircraft safely through the air thanks to innovative steering assistance. In addition, you always have the 'Panic Recovery' button at hand, which automatically straightens the aircraft's wings at any time. When you have mastered flying sufficiently, you can of course switch off this assistance system, even during the flight (switch). In this way, you will not only learn the basics of flying, but you will also be able to go wild in the experienced mode without limits!

Fun first

The powerful and efficient drive system gives you a long flight time from one battery charge. If you have mastered the Carbon Cub, the engine even provides enough power for acrobatic manoeuvres (loops, rolls, upside down flights). So you will have hours of fun with your plane and it is the ideal stepping stone to the next challenge in the sky. If there is a spare seat in the car, you'd better take it with you on holiday for fantastic adventures!

Ease of use

You do not need any special tools or glue to build this toy! A screwdriver is usually sufficient. Assembly and disassembly before and after your flight is also a breeze, so you can easily take your model anywhere.

Are there any additional requirements?

Version 1: RTF - Ready To Fly: This complete package contains everything you need to start flying: Carbon Cub S 2 (with all equipment already installed) and transmitter (remote control).

Needed to complete :  battery & charger

Version 2: BNF - Bind 'n Fly: This package also contains the Carbon Cub S 2 with all equipment already installed, but no transmitter, charger and battery are included. This allows you to use any previously purchased equipment (Spektrum DSMX transmitter, batteries, charger) with this plane.

Start2RC Tips: useful to know

• Buy an extra battery (or two) to make the most of your free time; you can already charge the other battery while you fly!
• If you want to recharge your batteries faster than with the standard charger (RTF version), you should buy a separate charger. These can be found from €44.95 and are a must if you have several planes in your fleet later. Charging is also best done in a LiPo Safe Bag, safety first!
• A LiPo Tester is also a must-have tool for model airline pilots. It allows you to measure before or after your flight how much battery charge you have left. This way, you avoid taking off with an empty battery or flying with a too empty battery.
•  Something broken by accident? No problem. The foam is easy to glue with the appropriate glue, and all parts of the plane are available separately. So there is always a solution and we are happy to help!
