TopRC Full composite Spitfire Mk.IX 81”, 2058mm span

The Spitfire Mk IX was originally developed as a stopgap measure as a response to the appearance of the Focke-Wulf FW 190A. The first response to this threat was the Mk VIII, but this aircraft involved a significant redesign of the basic Spitfire, and would take time too produce in the numbers required.

The Mk IX provided an alternative solution to the problem. It used the same Merlin 60/70 series engines at the Mk VIII, but in a slightly modified Mark Vc fuselage. This allowed for rapid development and production of the new model.

TopRC made a briljant scale model of the Spitfire with superb flying characteristics.

With a 2058mm span it can be flown with a 35cc gas engine or electric on 10S or 12S lipo batteries.

Servos are all standard size, we advise a good reliable standard servo like the Savox SC0254 or the Hitec HS645/S645.

The TopRC models have a very nice finishing and reasonable weigth, the optional electric retracts are reliable and affordable, we advise to use the stock retracts from TopRC for this model.

A spinner is not included, but we offer 2 or 3 blade scale spinners from TopRC that make a perfect match.
