The Tomcat EVO E is an improved version of the original Tomcat by Henning
Schmidt and Carlos Pisarello, who has been creating gliders for RCRCM for many
years. Compared to the original Tomcat,
Tomcat EVO has higher dihedral (4° became 6°). This changement provides more
stable circling and easier to handle on the winch. However, it is possible to
use the 4° Tomcat Joiner.
The wings were given a new profile section, which provide better climb rate. Together with the reinforced wing (main carbon spar), the Tomcat EVO is a Slope glider with very good performance while having reliable strength. For slopestyle pilots ballast chambers were added so it’s much easier to increase the wing loading in the slope/at the field. Important to know is that the elevator now is different than it was on the original Tomcat; it was changed from full flying to conventional. Together with the smaller area of the tailplane, the EVO speeds up very quick in turns. The Tomcat EVO was tested a lot and has now proven to be a new Tomcat, with new flying characteristics.
Available in 4 Versions:
Fiberglass+Carbon Standard Version: Standard
hollow molded fiberglass
construction reinforced with carbon fiber which gives good stiffness and
torsion stability with lower weight and cost. Highly recommended for sport
flying.
Carbon Version: Wings built using carbon cloth as well as fuselage
reinforced with carbon from leading edge of the wing to the tail. This
configuration gives the model enormous stiffness and torsion stability.
The first two versions are available in stock. We also can produce two
custom versions; Light Carbon Version (less weight) and Double Carbon Version
(with two layers of carbon).
This is the standard version (fiberglass with carbon reinforcements).
About how to
storage airplane : It is better to keep an airplane vertical hanging if it’s
not flown for a long time. Keeping the plane vertically, never gives
stress to the airplane, especially the middle of the airplane, this can prevent
eventual distortion.
