E-flite® Pilatus PC-21 1.3m PNP – Scale Performance with a Jet-Like Feel
The E-flite® Pilatus PC-21 1.3m PNP brings the distinctive looks and impressive performance of the legendary Swiss advanced trainer to the RC flight line. Designed for intermediate to experienced pilots, this highly detailed scale model combines authentic PC-21 styling with powerful 6S performance, functional scale features, and exceptional versatility.
Developed and built in Switzerland, the full-size Pilatus PC-21 is an advanced turboprop trainer designed to prepare military pilots for the demands of modern high-performance aircraft. E-flite captures the character of this remarkable aircraft in a convenient and highly capable model that delivers a unique combination of scale realism, speed, aerobatics, and everyday practicality.
At Aerobertics, we love the PC-21 for exactly that reason: it looks like a serious scale aircraft on the ground, but once airborne it offers the performance and agility of a much more aggressive sport model.
Authentic PC-21 Scale Design
The E-flite PC-21 1.3m features an impressive level of scale detail, making it a standout model both in the air and on the flight line.
The fully molded, composite-reinforced EPO airframe is finished in a premium factory-applied paint scheme with waterslide decals. Scale-inspired details include simulated exhaust stacks, antennas, cockpit details, and two pilot figures.
Functional features add even more realism and practicality:
The robust landing gear allows the PC-21 to operate from a variety of surfaces, including paved runways, packed dirt, and suitable short grass.
Powerful 6S Brushless Performance
The PC-21 is powered by a specially tuned 5065-470Kv brushless outrunner motor and a Spektrum™ Avian® 100A Smart Brushless ESC.
Designed around popular 6S 4000–7000mAh LiPo batteries, the power system delivers impressive acceleration, unlimited vertical performance, and level-flight speeds of 100+ MPH when using the included 5-blade propeller and spinner.
This makes the PC-21 much more than a scale model. It can transition effortlessly from smooth scale cruising to precision aerobatics, high-speed passes, and aggressive maneuvers.
For pilots who want even more speed and efficiency, the included 2-blade spinner can be combined with the optional APC 12x12E propeller (APC12012E, sold separately). This setup can provide higher speeds while significantly reducing current draw, potentially extending flight times.
The Avian Smart ESC also supports real-time power-system telemetry when paired with a compatible telemetry-capable receiver and transmitter, providing useful information such as battery voltage, temperature, motor RPM, and other system data.
Functional Flaps and Retracts
The PC-21 isn't just about looks. Its functional scale features contribute directly to its flying characteristics.
The full-span-style flaps feature scale hinges and hidden linkages, helping reduce takeoff and landing speeds while improving slow-flight performance.
The factory-installed electric retracts feature durable metal components and heavy-duty trailing-link struts with shock absorption. This makes the aircraft capable of operating from a wider range of flying surfaces while adding an impressive touch of scale realism during takeoff and landing.
The optional-use motor/thrust reversing feature can also help shorten the rollout after landing and provides additional ground-handling possibilities when using a compatible 7–8+ channel transmitter.
PNP Convenience
The PNP (Plug-N-Play) version is designed for pilots who already have a compatible transmitter, receiver, battery, and charger.
The motor, ESC, servos, retracts, flaps, and lighting system are factory-installed, dramatically reducing setup time and allowing you to concentrate on configuring the radio system and getting airborne.
Unlike the BNF Basic version, this PNP model does not include a receiver. You can therefore install the compatible receiver of your choice and configure the aircraft to suit your own radio ecosystem and flying preferences.
No glue is required for assembly. The vertical stabilizer and two-piece wing are secured with just eight hex-head screws, while the horizontal stabilizers simply snap into position without tools or additional fasteners.
You can be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge your battery.
Seven Metal-Geared Servos
Seven factory-installed metal-geared servos provide precise and reliable control throughout the aircraft.
Ball-link-equipped control linkages contribute to accurate control response, making the PC-21 equally enjoyable for scale flying, precision aerobatics, pattern-style maneuvers, high-speed flight, and more aggressive aerobatic performance.
The result is an exceptionally broad flight envelope that ranges from surprisingly stable slow flight to precise, locked-in high-speed aerobatics.
Why We Like It at Aerobertics
The E-flite Pilatus PC-21 1.3m PNP is one of those models that manages to combine three qualities that don't always come together: scale presence, serious performance, and everyday practicality.
The PC-21 looks unmistakably authentic, yet its 6S power system gives it the performance needed for fast passes and unlimited vertical maneuvers. Add functional retracts, flaps, LED lighting, a detailed cockpit, and a rugged EPO construction, and you have a model that is just as rewarding to fly as it is to admire.
At Aerobertics, we recommend the PC-21 to experienced pilots looking for a distinctive scale aircraft with enough performance to keep things exciting every time it takes to the sky.
