Freewing AL37 Airliner Base White Twin 70mm EDF Jet – PNP
Nothing draws a crowd at the flying field like a big passenger jet gliding in on final approach. The Freewing AL37 Airliner is Freewing's first twin-engine passenger EDF jet and, with a length of 2000 mm and a wingspan of 1830 mm, the largest EDF model the brand has produced so far.
This Base White version is for modellers who want to create their own airline. The airframe arrives in plain white with no decals applied, but the complete stock decal sheet is in the box. You can apply the standard markings or design a fully custom livery.
As a Plug-N-Play (PNP) model, the AL37 comes with its motors, fans, speed controllers, servos and electric retracts already installed. Add your own 6+ channel receiver, a 6S LiPo and your transmitter to get this 1/19 scale airliner ready for its first flight.
Giant Scale, Light Construction
The airframe is moulded from EPO foam with integrated aluminium-carbon reinforcement. This keeps the structure strong while holding the weight down, which matters on a model of this size.
The scale outline looks just as convincing on the flight line as it does overhead. Details such as the removable winglets, which use the MWS slotting system, and the engine nacelles, which come off with just three screws, add realism and practicality.
Twin 70mm EDF Power on a Single 6S Pack
This latest version is powered by two 2952-2100Kv inrunner motors driving 70mm 12-blade fans, giving the airliner more power and efficiency. Two 60A ESCs with an 8A UBEC manage the power.
Both fans run from one 6S LiPo, which helps keep the overall weight low. The AL37 cruises comfortably at less than half throttle, and with a 6S 5000mAh pack and careful throttle use, flight times of up to around 10 minutes are possible.
The airliner is stable at both high and low speed and has docile flying characteristics. That makes it a relaxed scale cruiser and a great platform for immersive flying such as FPV.
Scale Landing Gear, Flaps & Lighting
The electric retracts use aluminium alloy nose and main gear struts with shock absorption, so smooth main-wheels-first scale landings are a pleasure on every flight. The large wheels (45 mm nose wheel and 70 mm main wheels) make take-offs and landings from most grass fields easy.
A scale flap system with inboard and outboard flaps on each wing supports slow, realistic approaches. Eleven factory-installed LED lights throughout the airframe make the AL37 especially striking during dawn and dusk flights.
Plug-N-Play – Bring Your Own Receiver
This model is supplied without a receiver, transmitter, battery or charger. Simply install a 6+ channel receiver, bind it to your transmitter and set up the model to your preferences.
The onboard electronics are designed to be powered through the installed ESCs and their integrated BEC, using the main flight battery only. The receiver, servos and other electronics are rated for a maximum input of 5.5V. Never use a separate power source or a higher voltage, as this will damage the electronics.
Easy Assembly & Transport
Apart from the foam fuselage, every component is attached with screws only, and assembly takes about one hour.
The main wing is secured with just four screws. A control board with ribbon wire connects the wing to the fuselage, so assembly and disassembly for transport are quick. The built-in wiring channel in the main wing keeps everything tidy and preserves the clean scale appearance.
