Freewing MiG-29 Fulcrum V2 Red Star – Twin 80mm EDF Jet with Thrust Vectoring and Gyro PNP
Since entering service in 1981, the Mikoyan MiG-29 has flown with more than a dozen air forces as a twin-engine air superiority fighter. Its broad lifting-body fuselage, canted twin fins and angular intakes make the Fulcrum instantly recognisable on any flight line.
Freewing captures that silhouette in a large 1/9 scale model with a 1878 mm length. The V2 version keeps the twin 80mm EDF formula of the original and adds upgrades for strength, scale realism and easier handling at the field. The Red Star livery with its bold scale markings gives the jet real presence.
This Plug-N-Play (PNP) version has motors, ESCs, servos, gyros, retracts and lighting already installed. You add your own receiver and radio system with enough channels for this advanced twin-fan jet.
Redesigned Thrust Vectoring
The V2 has a new thrust vectoring nozzle that deflects up to 25 degrees while losing less than 5% of thrust. This improves the MiG-29's low-speed agility and gives you extra authority in vertical manoeuvres.
Two Freewing EG01 6-axis gyros are factory-installed. One handles flight stabilisation and the other controls thrust vectoring. Together they help the jet feel more settled on approach and more precise in tight manoeuvres, without taking away its high-performance character.
Twin 80mm EDF Power
Two 80mm 12-blade ducted fans, each driven by a 3658-2150Kv brushless inrunner motor, give strong acceleration and a top speed of close to 120 mph (approximately 190 km/h).
Each fan has its own 100A ESC with 8A UBEC. Power comes from two 6S 22.2V 4000–6000mAh LiPo batteries with EC5 connectors. The installed ESCs and their integrated BEC are matched to the onboard electronics, so the receiver and electronics should always be powered through the installed ESC from the main flight batteries.
Built Stronger for the Field
The V2 airframe has several structural upgrades. The nose gear strut and wheel have been redesigned for better ground handling. A CNC metal cover protects the main electric retracts. A wooden plate reinforces the wing spar, and the main landing gear mount has been updated.
Together with the suspension landing gear and large flaps, these changes make the jet better suited to well-kept short grass as well as hard runways. The lifting-body design also gives gentle flight characteristics and good directional stability.
Scale Detail and Lighting
The model has an accurate overall outline, articulating landing gear doors and a full scale ordnance package with Archer missiles on removable pylons. Twist-and-turn main retracts with servo-driven gear doors keep the underside clean in flight.
The V2 adds more LED navigation lights on the fuselage spine, belly and rudder, alongside the wing lights. They improve visibility at dusk and add realism on a low pass.
Plug-N-Play – Quick Field Setup
The model is supplied without a receiver. The radio needs 9 to 11 channels: 9 is the minimum, 10 are needed for gyro mode selection and 11 for thrust reversing.
Freewing's quick-release main wing system lets you fit and remove the wings without tools, which makes transport and setup faster. The CG reference marker is now on the underside of the wing, so balancing is quicker. Assembly takes about one hour.

Red Star Fulcrum – Ready for Your Radio at Aerobertics
The MiG-29 is one of the most distinctive fighters of the jet age, and this V2 Red Star version brings its broad fuselage and twin tails to your flying field in a big way.
Twin 80mm fans, a redesigned thrust vectoring nozzle, two EG01 gyros, a reinforced airframe and quick-release wings make this an exciting and practical twin-fan jet for experienced pilots.
At Aerobertics, we like giving pilots the freedom to set up their models their own way. This PNP version is a good choice if you already fly a multi-channel radio system.
Install your receiver, charge two 6S packs and take the Red Star Fulcrum into the sky.
