Hangar 9 Carbon Cub 15cc EP PNP
The CubCrafters Carbon Cub takes the familiar shape of the Piper Super Cub and rethinks it with modern materials and computer-aided design. The result is a lighter airframe with fewer parts, built to get off the ground and back down again in remarkably short distances and to handle the rough treatment of backcountry flying.
For more than a decade, the Hangar 9 Carbon Cub 15cc was one of the best-loved wooden models of this modern Cub. This updated version keeps everything pilots appreciated, including the modern Cub looks, smooth and stable scale handling and surprising aerobatic ability, while making assembly, storage and transport noticeably easier.
This Electric Powered Plug-N-Play (EP PNP) version arrives with the motor, Smart ESC and servos already installed, so you only need to add the compatible receiver and radio system of your choice.
Classic Wood Construction, Modern Cub Looks
Spanning 2286 mm, the Carbon Cub gives you a large-model flying experience while staying practical enough for regular sessions at the field. The built-up balsa and lite-ply airframe is light, stiff and strong, and it comes largely assembled at the factory and finished in genuine UltraCote film in Silver, True Red and Black.
The LED landing lights are now installed at the factory. The scale-style shock-absorbing landing gear has been fitted with better-looking wheels, and the airframe is designed to accept the optional 1/5th-scale wood float set (sold separately) if you want to fly from ponds and lakes.
Light wing loading and functional flaps let you make short takeoffs and landings and fly slowly with confidence. With the flaps up, the Carbon Cub becomes a capable scale and sport flyer that also handles aerobatics well.
Powerful 6S Brushless Performance
A factory-installed Spektrum Avian 5065-450Kv brushless outrunner motor powers the Carbon Cub. It works with 6S 4000–7000mAh LiPo batteries, so you can tune the setup for anything from relaxed scale flying to basic or more aggressive aerobatics.
The Spektrum Avian 100A Smart ESC manages the power. With compatible receivers and Spektrum AirWare-equipped transmitters, it sends real-time telemetry such as motor RPM, current draw and battery voltage, and it does this with both Smart and non-Smart batteries.
Plug-N-Play – Bring Your Own Receiver
This model is supplied without a receiver, transmitter, battery or charger.
The PNP setup suits pilots who already have a preferred radio system. Install a full-range receiver with at least 5 channels, bind it to your transmitter and set up the model to suit your flying style.
Six digital, metal-geared Spektrum A6380 HV servos come installed at the factory and are ready to connect, which keeps the final setup quick and simple.
Easy Assembly & Transport
Assembly bolts together and needs no glue or special tools. Most pilots can have the EP PNP version ready in about 1–2 hours.
The two-piece wing attaches quickly with thumbscrews. Its quick-connect struts fold flat against the wing, and the wing tube can be stored inside the fuselage, which makes this large model much easier to transport and store.
A large, magnetically secured windshield hatch on top gives easy access to the battery and power system. A second hatch between the wing halves gives extra access to the receiver and other electronics.

Carbon Cub – Ready for Your Radio at Aerobertics
The Carbon Cub brings the classic Cub formula into the modern era, and this Hangar 9 model captures that character in a large, traditionally built wooden airframe.
With its 2286 mm wingspan, functional flaps, LED landing lights, shock-absorbing gear and strong 6S Avian power system, it combines relaxed scale flying, short-field fun and real aerobatic ability in one versatile package.
At Aerobertics, we like models that let pilots choose their own electronics. The EP PNP version is the ideal choice if you already have a favourite radio system and want to be flying with minimal workshop time.
Bolt it together, add your receiver and take the Carbon Cub out for some backcountry-style flying.
