Robbe Turbo Charter – Classic & Bush/STOL Trainer Kit
For decades, the robbe Charter has been the model that introduced thousands of RC pilots to the world of radio-controlled flying. Tried, tested and much loved, it is far more than just a trainer: it is a true model-building experience.
The Turbo Charter takes this legendary design one step further. Developed in response to popular demand, it features functional landing flaps and a set of large Bush wheels, giving the model the distinctive look and capabilities of a Bush/STOL aircraft.
A classic design with even more possibilities
The Turbo Charter is an excellent choice for model builders who enjoy not only flying, but also the satisfaction of building, setting up and fine-tuning their own aircraft. The traditional wooden construction provides valuable hands-on experience and makes this kit a rewarding project for experienced builders.
The addition of landing flaps significantly broadens the model's capabilities. Combined with the large Bush wheels, the Turbo Charter is perfectly suited to short-field and grass-field operations, while retaining the Charter's legendary stable, forgiving and good-natured flight characteristics.
Depending on the power system, the Turbo Charter can even be used for glider towing, making it a remarkably versatile model for everyday flying.
Flexible electric power system
With the recommended Ro-Power 3546/760KV motor, combined with a 4S LiPo battery in the 3000–4000mAh range, the Turbo Charter offers plenty of power for confident take-offs and enjoyable flying.
The design is also highly adaptable. With only minor modifications, more powerful power systems can be installed if required, giving experienced pilots plenty of room to tailor the model to their preferred setup and flying style.
Only the components associated with the landing-flap system have been modified compared with the Charter Classic. The remaining parts are based on the proven original Charter design.
Our take at Aerobertics
At Aerobertics, we particularly like the Turbo Charter because it brings together two things that make traditional RC modelling so enjoyable: building and flying.
It has the character of a classic wooden model, the versatility of a modern Bush/STOL aircraft and the reassuring flight manners that made the Charter famous in the first place. Whether you enjoy relaxed cruising, grass-field flying or simply want a rewarding building project, the Turbo Charter is a model with plenty of personality.
And once the building is finished, there is nothing quite like taking a traditionally built aircraft that you assembled yourself to the flying field.
