Few aircraft are as instantly recognisable as the North American P-51D Mustang. Widely regarded as one of the finest fighter aircraft of World War II, the Mustang combined outstanding aerodynamics, long-range capability and exceptional performance to escort Allied bomber formations deep into enemy territory and back.
The legendary P-51D, powered by the iconic Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, became one of the defining aircraft of the war. E-flite brings this aviation icon to life once again with the P-51D Mustang 1.5m, now finished in the spectacular Big Beautiful Doll trim scheme made famous by Colonel John Landers.
This is the most detailed and highest-performing large-scale P-51 replica E-flite has produced, combining impressive scale fidelity with modern RC technology and outstanding flying characteristics.
Scale Detail Meets Modern Performance
The fully moulded EPO airframe features an accurate P-51D outline together with an impressive range of Extra Scale details, including moulded panel lines and hatches, guns, removable drop tanks and a beautifully finished Big Beautiful Doll colour scheme.
Functional details take the experience even further. The model features LED navigation lights, flaps and sequenced main and tailwheel gear doors, giving this Mustang an exceptional presence both in the air and on the ground.
The reliable electric retracts feature scale shock-absorbing main gear struts and ball-bearing equipped wheels fitted with softer diamond-tread tyres, making the Mustang suitable for a wider range of flying surfaces, including both paved runways and grass.
Powerful 6S Brushless Power
At the heart of the P-51D is a factory-installed 4258-460Kv 14-pole brushless motor, driving a large-diameter four-blade propeller.
Simply install a 6S 3200–7000mAh LiPo battery and this Mustang delivers level-flight speeds of more than 80 MPH (130 km/h) along with unlimited vertical performance — significantly beyond what you would expect from a scale warbird.
A 100A Spektrum Avian Smart ESC provides reliable power and real-time telemetry data, compatible with both Smart and conventional LiPo batteries when used with compatible Spektrum transmitters and receivers.
Spektrum Technology – BNF Basic
The BNF Basic version comes equipped with a Spektrum AR637TA+ receiver, offering full-range telemetry and advanced DSMX technology.

Easy Assembly & Practical Design
Despite its impressive size, the P-51D Mustang is remarkably easy to transport and assemble.
The unique three-piece wing design features the main landing gear in the centre section, while the outer wing panels simply snap securely into place without fasteners or tools.
The factory-finished EPO airframe requires no glue, and assembly can be completed in less time than it takes to charge a battery. Nine factory-installed servos with precise ball-link equipped linkages further simplify setup.
A large top hatch with an integrated stop provides easy access to the quick-release battery tray while keeping the battery securely in position.
