Freewing Avanti S Red Ultra Performance 8S 90mm EDF Sport Jet with Gyro – PNP
The Avanti S has earned a place among the most popular sport jets in the RC hobby, and Freewing has now taken the design to a whole new level. Officially licensed by SebArt International, the original designer of the Avanti S, this 90mm version stretches the familiar airframe to a 1380mm wingspan and a 1460mm length.
The larger size gives the Avanti S a commanding presence on the flight line, makes it easier to follow at a distance and delivers the stable, planted feel that only a bigger jet can offer. The high-contrast red and white livery is fully painted, with no bare foam visible anywhere on the airframe.
This Plug-N-Play (PNP) version arrives with the motor, EDF, ESC, gyro, servos, retracts and lighting already installed, so experienced pilots only need to add their own receiver, radio and 8S battery setup.
Bigger, Faster, More Capable
Scaling the Avanti S up to the 90mm class brings more than just extra size. The jet tracks precisely through fast passes, performs clean axial rolls and still offers good stall behaviour when you bring it back for a slow, low approach.
Functional flaps help you set up slower, more controlled landings, while the clear canopy with pilot figure and the removable magnetic nose cone complete the sporty, finished look.
Serious 8S 90mm EDF Power
At the heart of the power system is a 12-blade 90mm EDF driven by a 4075-1350Kv brushless inrunner motor. Running on an 8S LiPo setup, it generates approximately 4700g of thrust together with the turbine-like sound that makes 90mm jets so appealing.
With full throttle, the Avanti S can leave the ground in as little as 15m and reach top speeds of around 200 km/h, with plenty of vertical performance in reserve.
Cooling airways on both sides of the nose keep the battery and electronics cool during flight, while a large canopy hatch opens up a generous 280 x 83 x 70mm battery bay for easy handling of large packs.
EG01 Gyro & Thrust Reversing
The factory-installed Freewing EG01 6-axis gyro gives the jet a locked-in feel, smoothing out gusty conditions and steadying the Avanti S on final approach. Gyro modes can be selected from your transmitter when using an 8-channel setup.
The 120A ESC with 8A UBEC also features thrust reversing, which shortens the landing rollout considerably – a useful feature when your runway length is limited.
Strong Structure & Quick Assembly
Beneath the EPO foam, the Avanti S is built for strength and rigidity. The hollow main wing is constructed around a carbon fibre square tube and a wooden rib beam, and the horizontal stabilisers have their own carbon reinforcement.
The screw-less quick-release wing system lets you slide each wing panel onto the carbon spar and lock it in place, with the electrical connections plugging in automatically. The tail is attached with a few screws and a single wiring connection, getting you from box to flight line quickly.
The electric retracts use fully enclosed CNC aluminium shock-absorbing struts, with the springs and damping grease sealed inside. A built-in brace reinforces the nose strut, while servo-driven nose gear doors and main gear strut doors give the undercarriage a clean appearance. Hidden hinges and dual control horns with a centred captured ball link provide precise, durable control linkages.
Plug-N-Play – Bring Your Own Receiver
This PNP model is supplied without receiver, radio or batteries.
A minimum 6-channel radio and receiver is required, with 7 channels needed for reverse thrust and 8 channels for gyro mode selection. Power comes from an 8S 5000mAh setup, built either from two 4S 5000mAh packs or from one 6S and one 2S 5000mAh pack.
Want to take the Avanti S further? The bolt-on rear fuselage section accepts an optional thrust vectoring unit (FJ32511022, sold separately), turning the jet into a 3D machine capable of flat spins, tumbles and pendulums.
