Freewing FlightLine P-51D Mustang 1600mm (63”) Warbird with Gyro – PNP
The North American P-51 Mustang earned its reputation as one of the finest fighters of the Second World War. Conceived as a long-range escort, it paired a laminar-flow wing and a slender fuselage with the mighty Merlin engine, giving Allied bomber crews protection far beyond the reach of earlier fighters.
The FlightLine 1600mm P-51D Mustang brings that legacy to the flying field as a large electric warbird at approximately 1/7 scale. With 1600mm of wingspan and a length of 1420mm, it has the size and stance to turn heads on the flight line, and the smooth, flowing flight character you would expect from a Mustang.
This Plug-N-Play (PNP) version arrives with a factory-installed and pre-configured EG01 gyro, a 6S-compatible 5055 brushless motor, an 80A ESC and twelve installed servos. Just add your own receiver, radio and battery.
Scale Presence with Four Liveries
The airframe leaves the factory fully painted, with crisp panel lines and a clean scale finish that shows off the Mustang’s elegant shape. Four complete sets of markings are included, so you can choose your scheme during final assembly without picking up a paint brush. The "Frenesi" markings are the flagship livery.
Integrated LED navigation lights improve visibility in the air, while switch-activated simulated muzzle flash LEDs in the wings add a touch of wartime drama. External fuel tanks and static pylons are also included, and the model is prepared for an optional drop actuator to release the scale tanks or another payload.
EG01 Gyro – Factory-Tuned Stability
The EG01 gyro system is pre-installed and programmed specifically for this P-51D. It keeps the Mustang steady and predictable from takeoff to landing without hiding the aircraft’s natural feel on the sticks.
The design has also been tuned to minimise torque effects during takeoff and landing. This helps the Mustang track straight on the ground, which is reassuring with a big 4-blade propeller up front.
Powerful 6S Setup
A factory-installed 5055-340Kv brushless outrunner turns a scale 16x12 four-blade propeller. Power is managed by an 80A ESC with EC5 connector, integrated BEC and reverse thrust function.
Add a 6S 22.2V 4000–6000mAh LiPo with EC5 connector and you have plenty of performance for wide, graceful passes and confident climbs.
Scale Retracts & Field-Friendly Gear
Electric retractable landing gear, including the tail wheel, comes with CNC-machined shock-absorbing struts and cycling gear doors for realistic operation. The large 95mm main wheels make the Mustang comfortable on well-kept short grass as well as on hard runways.
Functional scale flaps lower the landing speed and give you better control on approach, and the steerable tail wheel helps with smooth, controlled taxiing.
Quick Field Assembly
The screwless, quick-release wings with auto-connect wiring make setting up at the field fast and easy, and the model breaks down quickly for transport.
The multi-material airframe combines moulded EPO foam with plastic, plywood, carbon reinforcement and aluminium for a strong yet light structure. Ball linkages on all control surfaces and durable nylon hinges ensure precise, dependable control. A sliding battery tray makes battery changes and CG adjustment quick and simple.
