Hangar 9 Hawk/T-45 140–160N Turbine RC Jet ARF
Since its introduction in the late 1970s, the BAE Systems Hawk—and its U.S. Navy derivative, the T-45 Goshawk—has served as a primary jet trainer for air forces around the world. The Hangar 9 Hawk/T-45 ARF brings this legendary airframe to life in a premium, turbine-powered scale model designed for performance and precision.
Built from carbon fiber–reinforced balsa and plywood, this Almost-Ready-to-Fly (ARF) model combines strength, light weight, and high fidelity. It is engineered to accommodate 140–160N-class turbine engines (sold separately), and includes a complete hardware package, dual-wall stainless steel exhaust pipe, and a 5.5-liter composite fuel tank with magnetic aluminum fittings—allowing you to focus on flying, not sourcing parts.
Large top hatches provide quick access to internal components such as the turbine, electronics, and fuel system. The exterior features a factory-applied VT-7 “Betsy Ross” trim scheme, including realistic panel lines, rivet details, and printed weathering for scale authenticity. Inside, the detailed cockpit features molded seats, a clear canopy, painted pilot figures, and a 3D instrument panel.
A purpose-built electric retract set (sold separately) with trailing-link aluminum struts, electric brakes, and a programmable controller ensures smooth takeoffs and landings on both paved and well-maintained grass fields. A full gear door set with mounting hardware is included to enhance the model's scale realism.
Designed for easy transport and assembly, the two-piece wing, horizontal and vertical stabilizers, and ventral fins are fully removable. The model is also compatible with various lighting options, including Hawk-specific lighting systems from uniLIGHT.
From its authentic design to its robust construction, the Hangar 9 Hawk/T-45 140–160N ARF is the perfect choice for experienced turbine pilots seeking a high-performance scale jet with true flight presence.
Weighing 40-44 lbs, the Hawk is perfectly paired with modern turbines from brands like Kingtech and JetCat in the 140-160N size range. The Kingtech K-142 and K-160 are what powered development and test airframes. Our preferred engine is the K-160 as it provides a great combination of power, performance, and flight time.
AUTHENTIC “BETSY ROSS” COVERING
The Hawk arrives wrapped in printed, self-adhesive PVC film replicating VT-7’s “Betsy Ross” flag scheme. Durable and precision cut, it delivers crisp panel lines, scale rivet details and weathering straight out of the box.
ROBUST FUEL SYSTEM
A composite 5.5 L fuel tank with aluminum magnetic fill and vent fittings, plus a dual-wall stainless steel tailpipe, are ready for easy install with the included hardware.
ELECTRIC LANDING GEAR & BRAKES
The HAN13785 retract set (sold separately) includes precision aluminum trailing-link struts, integrated electric brakes and a gear controller with brake adjustments, and a test button for cycling the landing gear without needing a transmitter.
LARGE TOP-HATCH ACCESS
Oversize hatches open tool-free to reveal the turbine bay, battery trays and receiver compartment. Big openings mean fast hookups, quick troubleshooting and efficient field-service routines - even when the flight line is busy.
MODULAR TRANSPORT DESIGN
Wings, stabilizers and ventral fins detach quickly seconds thanks to carbon-fiber and aluminum joiner tubes, with quick-release hardware. Stow them in optional padded transport and storage bags (HAN1375018, HAN1375019).
GEAR DOORS
A complete landing gear door set is supplied and provides a scale finishing touch. All linkages and mounting hardware are included, add three standard servos and you’ll be ready to get the gear cleanly tucked away.
READY FOR LIGHTS
The airframe is Light-Ready—just add your preferred LED kit. We’ve worked with folks like UNI-LIGHT ahead of release to ensure combos are available to make shopping easy! Customers may want to add a nose light, navigation and strobe lights for the wings, beacon and strobe lights for the fuselage.
