Panther Ausf. G – The Iconic German Medium Tank at Aerobertics
The Panther Ausführung G was the most widely produced version of the legendary Panzerkampfwagen V Panther, entering production in 1944 as a refined successor to the Ausf. A. With an improved and more cost-effective chassis, as well as continuous design optimizations, the Panther G represented the peak of German medium tank engineering during the Second World War.
Vehicles from the final production batches featured an updated engine deck, redesigned road wheels, and other refined details that enhanced performance and reliability in the field.
Armed with the powerful 7.5 cm KwK 42 L/70 cannon and featuring well-sloped armor, the Panther proved to be a formidable opponent on every front. Its Maybach HL 230 P30 V-12 petrol engine, delivering 700 horsepower, propelled the 44.8-ton tank to speeds of up to 55 km/h. The Panther’s five-man crew benefitted from advanced optics, excellent mobility, and strong firepower—making it one of the most respected tanks of its era.
