Background information

The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (W 198) is more than just a car; he is a style icon. When it came onto the market in 1954, it was the fastest production vehicle of its time and brought real racing technology to the road. Its most striking feature, the upward-opening wing doors, was not a design whim, but a technical necessity: the extremely stable tubular space frame required side sills so wide that conventional doors were not possible. Today the 300 SL is considered the “sports car of the century” and regularly achieves prices well above the million euro mark. With this model you bring exactly this myth home.
