Tamiya 1/24 Mini Cooper 1275S Mk.I – Updated Re-Release
At Aerobertics, we’re pleased to bring back one of the most influential cars in automotive history. Tamiya presents updated re-releases of its 1/24 Mini Cooper 1275S Mk.I model kits, now featuring revised decals, an updated instruction manual, and refreshed packaging.
Voted second place in the prestigious “Car of the Century” award in 1999, the legendary Mini remains an icon of intelligent design and timeless style. Produced from 1959 to 2000 with no major changes to its original concept, the Mini pioneered the front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout that would later define modern compact cars.
Despite measuring just 3 meters in length, the Mini’s clever engineering—such as its 10-inch wheels pushed to the corners, transverse engine layout, and integrated transmission and gearbox within the oil sump—allowed it to comfortably seat four adults. Its innovative suspension system combined double wishbones at the front with swing arms and rubber cones at the rear, delivering outstanding handling for its size.
In 1959, the British Motor Company introduced two versions under its Morris and Austin brands: the Morris Mini Minor and the Austin Seven. The Mini Cooper 1275S Mk.I would later cement the Mini’s reputation both on the road and in motorsport.
