Freewing F-35 Lightning II V3 70mm EDF Jet – PNP
The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is one of the most recognisable fifth-generation fighters, with its faceted stealth shape, angular tail group and distinctive radar-absorbent panelling. Freewing has captured that modern look in a compact 70mm EDF jet that is easy to handle and affordable to operate.
This V3 version is built on a completely new mould. Compared with Freewing's earlier F-35, it is larger, more powerful and more accurate in shape. The EPO airframe is reinforced with carbon spars, and the wings, rudders and elevators now attach with screws instead of glue.
The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version arrives with the inrunner motor, 12-blade fan, 80A ESC, servos and electric retracts already installed. You add your own 6+ channel receiver, transmitter and 6S battery.
Stealthy Scale Detail
Freewing modelled the nose shape, tail surfaces, sharp stealth facets and characteristic RAM paneling with great care. Thin, shallow panel lines, plastic scale surface details and a paint scheme created with more than 15 paint masks give the foam airframe a realistic finish.
The model wears the multi-colour factory-applied markings of EF-01, the first F-35, based at Edwards Air Force Base in California, together with Joint Strike Fighter graphics. Under the removable magnetic nose cone with its plastic tip you will find a faceted EOTS sensor in tinted plastic. A detailed cockpit with a hand-painted pilot figure completes the scale picture. The model is officially licensed by Lockheed Martin.
6S Inrunner Power with a 70mm 12-Blade Fan
A factory-installed 2957-2210Kv brushless inrunner motor drives a 70mm 12-blade ducted fan. Power is handled by an 80A ESC with a 5A UBEC and an EC5 connector.
The setup runs on a 6S 22.2V 3500–4500mAh LiPo, and 4000mAh is the recommended size for the best balance of performance and weight. Expect around 4–5 minutes of mixed-throttle flying, plenty of speed and confident take-offs from short grass runways. These 6S packs are the same type used in many larger EDF jets, so you can often share batteries across your fleet.
Plug-N-Play – Bring Your Own Receiver
The F-35 is supplied without a receiver, so you can install a minimum 6-channel receiver from your preferred radio system.
The receiver and onboard electronics are powered through the installed ESC and its integrated BEC, using only the main flight battery. The receiver, servos and other onboard electronics are rated for a maximum input of 5.5V. Do not use any other power source, as this will damage the electronics.
The large top-loading battery bay gives easy access to your receiver, an optional gyro and the flight battery. You no longer have to work through a small hatch under the fuselage.
Grass-Capable Gear & Easy Assembly
The electric retracts have aluminium suspension struts. The oleo-style main gear and the steerable trailing-link nose gear absorb hard landings and make taxiing over uneven grass much easier.
The full-flying horizontal stabilisers are controlled independently. Each uses a reinforced plastic-to-plastic hinge joint, designed to cope with speeds of over 100 mph.
No glue is needed, and assembly takes about an hour. The screw-on wings, rudders and elevators also make the model easy to transport, service and repair.

Fifth-Generation Jet Flying at Aerobertics
The F-35 is a natural first step into EDF jets. It lets you practise coordinated turns with rudder and ailerons, throttle management across a full aerobatic envelope and smooth landings on suspension gear before moving on to larger 80mm and 90mm jets.
With EF-01 markings, a stealthy faceted airframe, 6S inrunner power and grass-capable retracts, this Freewing jet brings real modern-fighter presence to your flying field.
At Aerobertics, we like giving pilots the freedom to set up their models their own way. This PNP version is the right choice if you already fly a radio system you trust.
Install your receiver, charge a 6S pack and take the Lightning II into the sky.
