CARF-Models BOLT — Legacy Reinvented
The CARF-Models BOLT builds on an almost 15-year legacy that began with the legendary Lightning. In its day, the Lightning redefined the sport-jet category in size, speed, prefabrication quality, and durability. Its evolution, the UltraLightning, introduced swept wings with highly aerodynamic tips along with enlarged swept stabilizers and fin — quickly earning a top position among the world’s fastest high-performance sport jets.
Today, the BOLT proudly carries this heritage forward.
It retains the perfectly optimized wing and stabilizer design that made its predecessor famous, while introducing a greatly refined fuselage featuring innovative engineering solutions. One highlight is the large, easily removable canopy hatch with an integrated nose section. Combined with the clear canopy and detailed cockpit deck, the aircraft’s sleek lines are both functional and visually stunning.
At CARF-Models, one principle has always guided development: “Form Follows Function.” Every aircraft is designed, produced, tested, and flown in-house by a passionate and ever-growing team.
With the BOLT, however, another philosophy was equally embraced:
“What looks good, flies good.”Visionaries like Colani, Rutan, and Pecorari have proven this to the world — and the BOLT is living proof.
And yes… it looks as good as it flies.
ARF Kit — Key Features
As expected from a latest-generation CARF design, the BOLT integrates numerous advanced features:
Carbon Production
Carbon composites are used in all structurally critical areas, resulting in exceptional rigidity and strength — creating an airframe that feels virtually unbreakable in flight.
Fuel System
All tanks are conformal to the fuselage and ducting for optimal space use while remaining easily removable. The optional lightweight spiral-reinforced stainless thrust tube and matched Kevlar tanks are highly recommended. (UAT sold separately.)
Landing Gear
The BOLT features perfectly matched Electron retracts with full gear doors:
No compromises — clean aerodynamics at any speed.
Flying Characteristics
From the moment the BOLT lifts off, it feels at home in the sky.
Acceleration is relentless, and once gear and flaps retract, the jet transforms into one of the smoothest sport jets imaginable.
Vertical climbs, fast axial rolls, endless loops, and ultra-low high-speed passes feel effortless. The faster it flies, the smoother it becomes — a hallmark of its ultra-stiff structure, optimized airfoil, precise control geometry, and long tail moment.
Throttle back to idle and the BOLT will glide for multiple circuits, slicing through the air with a distinctive turbine whistle.
Slow flight? Equally impressive. Flaps down, stable approaches, and predictable landings are complemented by excellent ground handling thanks to the wide gear stance.
You’ll be planning the next sortie before taxiing back.

Personal Touch — at Aerobertics
At Aerobertics, we see the CARF-Models BOLT as more than just a sport jet — it’s the perfect fusion of legacy engineering and modern composite excellence.
What we particularly love is how accessible such extreme performance becomes. The transport-friendly breakdown, clean installation layout, and factory-prepared gear system make the build as enjoyable as the flying.
Whether you’re stepping up from your first turbine model or adding a high-speed thoroughbred to your fleet, the BOLT delivers that rare combination of:
In short… a jet that looks fast standing still — and flies even better.
