OMP Hobby - 67” EXTRA NG – High-Performance Semi-Scale Aerobatic Model at Aerobertics
The 67” EXTRA NG is a semi-scale model designed for experienced pilots, perfectly suited for both classic aerobatic patterns and extreme 3D maneuvers. Powered by a 2,000–2,600 W brushless electric motor, this aircraft combines precision, durability, and high agility for demanding flight conditions.
The fuselage features an ultra-lightweight, now-classic design using balsa and plywood reinforced with Kevlar®/carbon composites. A detachable fiberglass cowl and large fuselage/canopy hatch provide full access to the power system and RC components. The motor or engine mounts securely to a plywood/composite reinforced box using a radial mount for maximum stability.
The two-piece all-balsa wing uses a symmetrical airfoil and carbon tube joiner, with the halves secured to the fuselage via screws. Large ailerons, each controlled by a single servo, offer responsive control, while optional SFG winglets can be installed on the wingtips for enhanced 3D performance.
The empennage is a lightweight all-balsa assembly, with a single-piece horizontal tailplane glued into the fuselage. Elevator and rudder are servo-controlled from the tail section, ensuring precise handling.
The entire model is covered with ULTRACOTE® iron-on film (ORACOVER® in the USA), delivering a smooth, durable, and visually striking finish.
The landing gear features carbon composite main legs, fiberglass spats, lightweight wheels, and a tail wheel with a carbon bracket linked to the rudder for full directional control.
