The dimensions of the MultiFix model stand are approx. 100 x 46 x 22 cm (LxWxH) without holding elements. The holding arms can be rotated so that almost the full support can be used. If the holding arms are vertical, the clearance is approx. 40 cm.
All experience from previous products was incorporated into the design of the MultiFix. The aim was to develop a model stand for the workbench that can be universally adapted to any imaginable hull shape and allows the model to be accessed as easily as possible.
To achieve this, the following functions were implemented:
- individual side parts can be adjusted in height (11 cm)
- side parts and feet can be freely positioned in length
- entire support area can be tilted (± 29 °)
- rotating support for different hull shapes
- anti-twist holding arms
- magnetic holder for small magnetic parts
The elongated holes in the side parts are for attaching the individual holding elements. The adjustable support can be rotated and has a different shape on each side to store the model safely. The holders can also be used as a fixation. The holding arms are also attached in a groove and are secured against twisting. This enables a secure hold when working on the model, for example when the MultiFix is swiveled or when transporting it in the car.
The tilting mechanism works with 4 ball bearings and 4 wing screws, which can fix the tilting movement. This means that the model can be positioned at any time so that the model is as accessible as possible.
The wooden parts are CNC milled from high-quality and stable 15 mm birch multiplex.
The wooden parts are glued to the support points with 3 mm self-adhesive solid rubber so that the model is held securely and not damaged.
In the Black Edition, the wood is also coated with a 220 g/m² thick phenolic resin coating, which makes the model stand particularly robust.
