Late War Armor
By the end of WWII, the Pz.Kpfw.IV was starting to show its age as it was confronted by newer Allied armor; one of the solutions for the German forces was the Panzer IV/70(A), which gave it improved firepower. To keep development times short, the Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.J chassis was used, and paired with the L/70 7.5cm gun, which had enough firepower to take care of Allied contemporaries; a modified version of the Jagdpanzer IV/70(V) Lang turret was used to accomodate the longer piece. Around 270 were manufactured between August 1944 and March 1945, and put to work on both the Western and Eastern Fronts, and the Panzer IV/70(A) continued to provide valuable firepower even as the Allies pushed relentlessly toward victory.
